Mr. LaPorte has received numerous awards and recognition for his contribution to the Social Security Disability law community. He was named in Super Lawyer as a top Social Security Disability attorney. He received the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley's Philip J. Berelson Award for Generous Philanthropy. Mr. LaPorte was awarded the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Chapter Programs Partner of the Year and the Social Security Attorney of the Year. He received the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award from the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Mr. LaPorte's dedication to the disability community was acknowledged by the California State Bar’s Consumer Business Review, the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the Pro Bono Project of Santa Clara County

Mr. LaPorte was awarded the Legal Specialty Certification from the National Board of Social Security Disability Advocacy. Because of his expertise in Social Security Disability law, he joined the Board of Examiners, National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives, a provider attorney to the American Association of Retired Persons, and a seven-time Chair of the Social Security Section, Santa Clara County Bar Association.

Mr. LaPorte has served as a lecturer on disability law for the Continuing Education Program of the California Bar Association. He has provided Social Security Disability law training for many legal services, community and support organizations.
